Western Iowa Rural Passport

Explore Western Iowa with the Western Iowa Rural Passport program. It's easy! Pick up a Passport from any participating business and embark on your journey of discovery through local shops, restaurants, service providers, and experiences. Take your Passport to any participating business. Once you’ve made your purchase or received your service, you will earn a validation stamp! Good for one use only per business, unless otherwise noted.

Collect stamps at each business you visit between June 19 and September 2, 2024! Travelers who complete the requirements will be entered into a drawing to win one of three Grand Prize Baskets overflowing with goodies and gift certificates! It's a fun and rewarding way to support local businesses and discover hidden gems in your own backyard. So grab your friends, family, and a Passport and prepare for an unforgettable summer staycation adventure in Western Iowa!

The Challenge:

• Visit at least ten towns, five from each: East Region & West Region
• Visit at least five services or experiences
• Visit at least ten retail shops
• Visit at least ten food establishments

Qualified Passports will be entered into a random drawing for one of 4 Grand Prizes valued at over $300 each! Winners will be notified in November 2024.

Limited to one booklet per family. Must be 18 or older to participate.

Bonus Challenges:

Complete any of the following to earn an additional grand prize drawing entry!

• Foodie Challenge: Visit all the food establishments in the passport and earn a "Foodie Favorite" stamp!
• Shop Local Challenge: Visit all the retail shops in the passport and earn a "Shop Small Supporter" stamp!
• Par 3 Challenge: Visit and play all 5 Golf Courses and earn an “Elite Putter" stamp!
• Social Butterfly Challenge: Social Butterfly Challenge: Follow all the businesses and Passport Program on social media. Share pictures from your journey using #ruralpassport, tag us, and earn a "Social Media Star" stamp!
• Regional Rockstar Challenge: Visit all businesses in either region; East or West and earn a "Super Tourist" stamp!
• Complete Collector Challenge: This is the ultimate test of your passport exploration! Visit ALL the businesses in the passport and earn the prestigious "Passport Master" stamp, signifying your complete mastery of the program and 5 Grand Prize entries!

There may be some locations, events, or landmarks that you will not collect stamps from. EX: Freedom Rocks, Wabash Trail, County Parks, Farmers Markets. These have been added so that while visiting these towns, you can also check out the other fun things our rural communities have to offer! We encourage you to plan, research, and explore!

Have you Completed your Summer Staycation Passport?

Whether you've stamped every page or discovered just a few hidden gems along the way, when it's time to turn in your completed (or partially completed) passport, here's what to do next:

1. Fill out your Traveler ID: Don't forget to fill out the Traveler ID section in your passport. This is how we'll reach you if you're a lucky winner!
2. Turn it in! Whether you've met all the qualification requirements or not, PLEASE return your completed passport to any participating business and hand your passport to a staff member.
3. Deadline: All passports must be turned in by September 9th, 2024. Mark your calendar!
4. Qualifying Passports: will be entered into a random drawing for one of 4 GRAND PRIZES. Winners will be notified in November by email or text message to the contact information provided in your Traveler ID.

Privacy Promise: We take your privacy seriously. The information you provide will only be used to administer and announce the program participant winners. Your information will never be shared with any third parties, and it will be deleted after the contest is concluded at your request.
