Mid-America Center

Overview

The Mid-America Center is the premier arena, convention, and event facility in Council Bluffs, offering more than 64,000 square feet of flexible space for conventions, conferences, trade shows, sporting events, concerts, banquets, meetings, and community gatherings. Conveniently located near I-80 and I-29 in the Mid-America Center Entertainment District, the venue serves as a regional destination for entertainment, sports tourism, and large-scale events.

The convention center features 24,000 square feet of meeting space, including two ballrooms and eight breakout rooms with banquet seating for up to 1,200 guests. An additional 24,500 square feet of exhibition hall space and 15,000 square feet of pre-function space provide flexibility for conventions, expos, tournaments, registration areas, vendor exhibits, banquets, and special events.

The facility's 30,000-square-foot pillar-free arena accommodates approximately 6,700 guests for sporting events and up to 9,000 guests for concerts and entertainment events. The arena regularly hosts concerts, comedy shows, rodeos, monster truck events, family entertainment, championship sporting events, and community celebrations, making it one of the region's most versatile event venues.

The Mid-America Center has hosted national championships, regional tournaments, and major sporting events, including the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships, Yonex US Open Badminton Championships, and the 2026 US Baton Twirling Championships. The venue also regularly welcomes regional dance competitions, cheer events, conventions, trade shows, and meetings that attract visitors from across the Midwest.
