2. Celebrate 25 Years of Creativity

Arts center

Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 23, and join us for a one-of-a-kind celebration as the Arts Center at Iowa Western turns 25! This anniversary party brings the community together with a full day of music, connection, and high-energy performances from local favorites. From the Southern rock twang of Finding Dixie and the bold, soulful sound of High Heel, to the heartfelt tunes of the Jimmy Weber Band, the stage will be alive all day long. And when the sun sets, get ready to dance it out with the legendary Billy McGuigan Band and their crowd-thrilling setlist of iconic hits. Whether you're a loyal fan of the arts or just looking for a fun summer night out, come join the celebration—25 years strong and still rocking! Read our blog for more details!

3. Light Up the Night with the Perseids Meteor Shower

Perseides

Gaze at the stars on August 15 during the annual Perseids Night Sky Event at Crescent Hill at Hitchcock! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and binoculars for a cozy night under the sky. Wander the park’s trails while watching nature’s dazzling light show, and get a closer look through telescopes provided by the Omaha Astronomical Society. It’s a magical way to experience August evenings and connect with the cosmos.

4. Swing into Action

Home in one

Get ready to tee off for a great cause at the 5th annual Home-in-One Golf Classic hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Council Bluffs! Swing by Dodge Riverside Golf Club on August 29, 2025, for a day filled with exciting golf action, delicious food, and awesome pin prizes. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just out for some fun, your participation helps build more than just fairways — every dollar goes straight back into creating homes, strengthening community, and spreading hope right here at home. Don’t miss out on a fantastic day on the greens that makes a real difference — or have a casual day at any of these golf courses here.

5. Cruise In Council Bluffs Car Shows for Great Causes

Wags and Wheels
