Manuel Lisa - Trapper on the Missouri
February 6 | 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.Council Bluffs Public Library
UNfortunately, this event has already occurred.
Join historian Troy Stolp and discover Manuel Lisa, the first of the fur trappers to come out of St. Louis. He was among the founders, in St. Louis, of the Missouri Fur Company. After making his way up the Missouri, Lisa built a resident trading station in this area. In 1816, he became a U.S. Indian agent, and helped to keep the British from gaining a foothold into the interior of the continent. This program is free and open to the public.
