Overview
Known as the "Little People's House," the historic Bregant House was built in 1912 for former Vaudeville performers Jean and Inez Bregant, who stood 42 inches and 39 inches tall, respectively. Designed specifically for their needs, the home features uniquely scaled elements, including a low fireplace mantel, a four-foot-long clawfoot bathtub, and lowered light switches and thermostats.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Bregant House offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into an extraordinary chapter of local history. The home is open for tours Friday through Sunday, and reservations should be made online. Ongoing fundraising efforts are helping preserve and restore this one-of-a-kind Council Bluffs landmark.
