Overview
Located inside the Iowa West Field House, the Council Bluffs Professional Sports Roster celebrates the hometown athletes whose journeys began in Council Bluffs before reaching the highest levels of professional and international competition. This permanent exhibit honors the dedication, perseverance, and community support that helped shape athletes who competed on some of the world's biggest stages.
More than 20 large-scale banners recognize professional athletes, Olympians, and Paralympians with Council Bluffs roots who advanced to the NFL, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, Olympic and Paralympic competition, professional boxing, horse racing, and other elite levels of sport. Representing Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Lewis Central, and St. Albert high schools, the roster showcases the community's proud athletic tradition and celebrates the accomplishments of local athletes who inspired generations.
Open to the public Monday through Thursday from 2–8 p.m., the exhibit offers sports fans, history enthusiasts, and aspiring athletes an opportunity to explore Council Bluffs' enduring sports heritage and discover the hometown stories behind remarkable athletic achievements.
