1. Experience the Magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream

2. Swing Into Spring with the Glenn Miller Orchestra

Arts Center at Iowa Western
The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra returns to Council Bluffs for an unforgettable night of big band sound. This 18-member ensemble continues the legacy of Glenn Miller’s original band, performing beloved arrangements from the Swing Era alongside modern selections in the classic Miller style. A must-see for music lovers and history buffs alike.
3. Cars & Comedy for a Cause
April 12 | 11 AM
Backpacker's Brew
Davis Performance Presents: Cars & Comedy for a Cause — a scholarship fundraiser packed with cool cars, big laughs, and community spirit. Bring Your Own Chair for the comedy show and settle in as comic host Don Seager teams up with Jarell Roach for a high-energy afternoon of stand-up. Stroll the car show, check out seriously cool rides, and support local with food trucks and vendors on-site. Bring your ride, bring your friends, bring a chair—and help turn laughs and horsepower into opportunities for students in our community.
4. Discover Scenic Paths and River Views

Step into history and scenery during Memories on the Mighty MO, a three-day walking festival celebrating milestone anniversaries for America’s Walking Club and the Rails to Trails Conservancy.
First Avenue Trail Walk
April 17 | 2 PM | Meet at Hy-Vee West Broadway
Enjoy a guided walk past 15 vibrant murals along the First Avenue Trail in the heart of Council Bluffs.
River’s Edge Walk
April 18 | 9 AM | River’s Edge Pavilion
Walk both sides of the Missouri River, preview progress on the new Treetop Walk and Adventure Tower, and cross the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge into Omaha’s RiverFront. Food trucks and refreshments will be available after the walk. ($4 walking fee)
5. Race for a Cause at AAZK Race Against Extinction
April 24 | 6 PM
Hitchcock Nature Center
Join the American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK) and Peak Performance for an evening supporting conservation efforts worldwide. This year’s proceeds benefit The Peregrine Fund. Choose between a 5K trail run or a 2-mile nature hike and enjoy the beauty of Hitchcock Nature Center while making a difference. After the race, stick around for the award ceremony, door prizes, music, food, and beverages. Unique earth-friendly medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall and across 10-year age increments.
