October brings crisp fall air, family-friendly festivals, opportunities to support meaningful causes, live music, and captivating performances to Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County. Add these five events to your calendar this month!
1. Make Fall Memories at the All Hallows Eve Festival
October 3 | 4:30 PM | Botna Bend Park
Kick off the Halloween season at Botna Bend Park! Bring the whole family out for hayrack rides, hot dogs, trick-or-treating, and festive fall activities hosted by park staff and campers.
A $3 per vehicle entry fee or Pottawattamie Conservation membership is required for non-campers. Freewill donations are also accepted to support future county park programming.
2. Run or Walk for a Cause
October 4 | 9 AM | Ditmars Orchard & Vineyard
The Ditmars Spiked Apple 5K partners with the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life to raise awareness and support the fight against cancer.
October 10 | 9 AM | Iowa Western Community College Wellness Center
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research while bringing the community together in the fight against Alzheimer’s and other dementia.
3. Warm Up at the Arrowhead Park Chili Fest
October 10 | 4 PM | Arrowhead Park
Warm up with a bowl of chili and take part in games, pumpkin painting, hayrack rides, and trick-or-treating at this annual fall tradition. Costumes are encouraged!
4. Experience Momentum
October 17 – 18 | 7:30 PM | Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center
American Midwest Ballet presents Momentum, a bold collection of dance featuring inspiring stories, vibrant movement, and a delightfully dark take on Danse Macabre.
5. Listen to Live Music
October brings an exciting lineup of concerts to CB, featuring rock, hip-hop, pop favorites, tribute music, and a throwback ’90s party. These are just some of the artists and bands performing this month:
