Buck Christensen Photography Highlights the Best of Council Bluffs

Buck Christensen is a photographer, writer, editor, fogchaser, sunstalker, and flower whisperer located in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

His work primarily includes Midwest landscapes, floral portraits, and light painting. He is one of the Pottawattamie Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (PACE) resident artists at the Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center. You can check out his work in person during the PACE Studio Artists' open studio hours every Friday from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Hoff. You can also schedule an appointment to view his work.

“The only true measure of a photograph’s quality should be whether it elicits an emotional response in the viewer. I hope that some of my work does that for you,” said Christensen.

His prints have been displayed at various galleries and art shows since 2010. His ongoing Boy Scout Island (Lake Manawa) series of photographs was documented by the PBS series Iowa Outdoors in 2017 and featured in Outdoor Photographer magazine in 2018.

The video above is a culmination of work from the last two years featuring aerial videos taken around Council Bluffs. The video features many of Christensen's favorite moments since early 2020 and includes iconic CB imagery.
