Farmers Market season is upon us, and there are countless reasons to support your local markets! Enjoying produce at its peak freshness, meeting the people who grow your food, protecting the environment, and supporting your local farmers, are just some of the many reasons to attend. Additionally, most markets include family-friendly activities, so you can bring the whole family! We've put together a list of farmers markets happening this summer in Pottawattamie County.

Farmers Market Council Bluffs
Time: Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Season: May thru September
Location: Bayliss Park
Shop, eat, and play all summer! Come check out Farmers Market Council Bluffs, presented by CHI Health Mercy, Council Bluffs! Located in Bayliss Park, the farmers market showcases both seasonal and weekly vendors every Thursday evening from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm. The farmers market also includes wellness activities sponsored by All Care Health Center. Have kids? Not a problem! Along with plenty to do for the adults, there are weekly activities to entertain the kids, sponsored by Centris Federal Credit Union.
River City Farmers Market
Time: Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Season: Ends at the end of September
Location: YMCA Healthy Living Center parking lot
The River City Farmers Market has great options for fresh-picked locally grown vegetables and flowers, freshly baked goods, honey, free-range chicken and duck eggs, art, jellies, and so much more for you to enjoy!
Underwood's Monday Markets
Time: Mondays from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Season: June 17 - September 16 (No market on Labor Day)
Location: UMBA Hall Pavillion
The Friends of Underwood host the annual Monday Markets, where you can shop for locally-grown produce and goods. Each week includes a special activity or theme, like bingo, pie night, a car show, and more! Come down for some small-town fun!
Avoca Main Street Farmers Market
Time: Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Season: June 5 - September 25
Location: N 200 block of Elm Street in Avoca
Come down to North Elm Street in Avoca every Wednesday evening, June through September, for the Avoca Main Street Farmers Market. They host local produce vendors, bakers, crafters, artisans, and food trucks. The Avoca Public Library will offer family programming, and the market will feature musical performances funded by the Community Foundation for Western Iowa and other all-ages entertainment.
Treynor Farmer's Market
Time: Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Season: June 3 - August 6
Location: Treynor Community Center parking lot

Crescent Farmers Market
Time: Last Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Season: Last Saturday of the month from April 27 - September 28
Location: Crescent City Park
The Crescent Farmers Market has a variety of vendors lined up. There will be produce, canned goods, bakery items, various craft vendors, food trucks, drinks, live music, and more! This event is very family-friendly and is a great idea for a Saturday outing! There are a few local restaurants, including Henry's Diner, to grab some breakfast or lunch at afterwards.
