Located in Lake Manawa State Park, Dream Playground is the largest ADA accessible playground in Iowa. Inspired by local students, the playground was designed and built in the '90s based on their ideas. In 2017, about 1,800 local children submitted drawings for the Dream Playground Re-Imagined Project. Their drawings inspired the playground's new $1.3 million renovations making it ADA accessible so that all children may utilize it.
There is a nonresident vehicle permit of $5 for the day or $40 for the year. The daily fee is not required for nonresidents who go to the beach and pay the beach admission at Lake Manawa. Admission for the beach area is $3 per person (children younger than 2-years-old are free). For more information, visit the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website.
