Created by artist Luis Valle, "Riverboat on the Missouri" perfectly depicts the rich history of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The scene includes an image of a riverboat making its way down the Missouri River, the Loess Hills on the banks of the river, a railroad double-swing bridge, and a gorgeous Iowa sunset.
The mural is a part of an Iowa West Foundation initiative to create a cultural trail throughout downtown Council Bluffs. Iowa West partnered with Availa Bank and Western Iowa Mutual Insurance to find the mural.
