Militant to Triumphant: A Study on Christian Vocation What does it mean to live out your faith where God has placed you, at work, at school, in your neighborhood, in your home? This summer, join Isaiah Lusajo for a Bible study exploring the Lutheran theology of vocation; the bold idea that your everyday life is the very place God calls you to serve Him and your neighbor. Isaiah is a Council Bluffs native, an Abraham Lincoln High School alum, and a pre-seminary student at Concordia University Nebraska in Seward. He brings both the theological grounding of his studies and the relatable perspective of a young man figuring out what it looks like to follow Christ in real life. Whether you're a student, a young professional, or just someone asking "what am I supposed to do with my faith?", this study is for you. Thursday Evenings | May 28 – August 20, 2026 6:30 – 8:30 PM Questions? Call or text Isaiah at 712-309-1604 or email [email protected].

Come join us as we celebrate with a parade, pancakes, car shows, food and more!
This celebration is about more than a milestone—it’s about our community, our journey, and everything we’ve come through together. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

The 1970s saw a new courthouse arrive on the scene, an old courthouse sent off to California, and an old jail taken over by the Historical Society. The decade also witnessed the biggest shift in local retail in the city’s history: the end of downtown as the retail center, the opening of the downtown mall, and the creation of the strip malls. And it was all set to a soundtrack of a new urban danceable genre of music designed for nightlife, creating a cultural divide with those who considered themselves serious rock and rollers.
The demise of downtown and the rise of disco. This was a decade to remember.
This program is free and open to the public in partnership with the Historical Society of Pottawattamie County.

The Taco Ride takes place every Thursday evening on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Mineola, Iowa, and back. The scenic ride is about 20 miles through the Loess Hills and ends with dinner at Tobey Jack's Mineola Steakhouse. The weekly rides take place from when the trail is dry enough in the spring (usually in April or May) until late in the fall (usually until Halloween).
Most riders start at Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park where parking is available. Slightly more than halfway between the trailhead and Tobey Jack's, many riders will stop at a picnic area, nicknamed Margaritaville, for a quick break and to join in a conversation with fellow bikers or to partake in refreshments they brought with them.
Note: The Taco Ride is a weekly event. It runs every Thursday evening during most of the year, weather permitting. Visit the Taco Ride website, linked below, for event news. For more information about the ride, visit our blog.

Militant to Triumphant: A Study on Christian Vocation What does it mean to live out your faith where God has placed you, at work, at school, in your neighborhood, in your home? He brings both the theological grounding of his studies and the relatable perspective of a young man figuring out what it looks like to follow Christ in real life. Whether you're a student, a young professional, or just someone asking "what am I supposed to do with my faith?", this study is for you. Thursday Evenings | May 28 – August 20, 2026 6:30 – 8:30 PM Questions? Call or text Isaiah at 712-309-1604 or email [email protected].
