The park serves as a gateway to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, allowing you to stand in two states simultaneously as you cross the Mighty Mo!
Belles' Play Garden offers Missouri River-inspired play and educational elements for kids to explore. The 15-foot-tall pelican is hard to miss, with climbing features, slides, and a lookout perch for little adventurers.

Make a stop at the Charles E. Lakin Pier, the newest addition to Council Bluffs’ riverfront! Located near Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park and connected to the Iowa Riverfront Trail, the pier offers scenic views of the Missouri River and Omaha skyline. Walk, bike, or scooter along the trail and head out onto the pier for a new perspective of the riverfront.
Take Adventure to New Heights
Opening September 19, 2026, the MidAmerican Energy Adventure Tower rises 138 feet above the Council Bluffs riverfront, offering incredible views of the Missouri River, surrounding woodlands, Council Bluffs, and the Omaha skyline. The tower features multiple observation levels along with high-flying adventures, including a 50-foot outdoor climbing wall, dual 480-foot rollgliders, and more than 400 feet of interconnected simulated caves.
The adventure begins before you even reach the tower. The half-mile Borman Family Treetop Walk connects the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge to the tower through an elevated path winding among the trees.
